Mountain Pavilion, Carilion Roanoke Memorial Hospital

Restricted by the side of a steep mountain, HSMM designed an architecturally striking 8-story structure that is attached to the existing hospital. The new addition houses 149,000 square feet, including "smart" operating rooms that employ advanced video and voice-activated technologies, automated medication dispensing capability, and advanced imaging technology, and state-of-the-art units for cardiac, vascular and medical surgical care.

Mountain Pavilion received the Best Project in Private Sector Award from the National Capital Chapter of the Design-Build Institute of America. |
