Salt Lake Valley Emergency Communications Center

The new Valley Emergency Communications Center (VECC) provides public safety communications for the region surrounding West Valley City, including Salt Lake City. The center also houses the headquarters for the Utah Communications Area Network (UCAN). HSMM, and its subsidiary, CTA Communications were part of a multidispline team that designed the new dispatch center. HSMM designed both the 25,000 SF dispatch center and radio equipment/maintenance buildings. CTA provided equipment layout, developed a hot-cutover plan, and assisted UCAN in planning a 100-foot tower.

In keeping with VECC's employee-focused environment, HSMM designers provided ergonomically adjustable consoles for each dispatcher station as well as individual temperature. |
