Warwick Boulevard, Route 60

HSMM provided roadway design services for the widening of Warwick Boulevard from 4-lanes to 6-lanes. The project is 2.1 miles in length and is located in Newport News, Virginia. The limits of the project are from J. Clyde Morris Boulevard to the North of Alpine Road. Warwick Boulevard is classified as an urban minor arterial roadway. This project also included the relocation of existing Shoe Lane to improve the traffic pattern and provide easy access to the Mariner’s Museum.
HSMM’s tasks included roadway and drainage design, regional stormwater management basin design, preparation of maintenance of traffic and sequence of construction plans, traffic analysis and design of a roundabout near the Mariner’s museum. HSMM also coordinated with VDOT and other consultants that provided services such as utility relocation, signal design, lighting, and landscaping design for Warwick Boulevard construction plans. |
